Free accessibility checker

Can everyone use your website?

Type your website address and see, in about 30 seconds, how it does on Google's accessibility test: color contrast, labels, image descriptions, headings and navigation.

Free. Takes about 30 seconds. Uses Google's accessibility test, on a phone.

What we check

What a screen reader runs into.

One score from 0 to 100. 90 or higher is good, 50 to 89 needs work, under 50 is poor. Every problem comes with the number of page elements it affects.

  • Color contrast

Whether text stands out enough from its background for people with low vision or a phone in bright sun.

  • Names and labels

Whether buttons, links, form fields and images say what they are, so a screen reader can read them aloud.

  • Navigation

Whether headings are in order and keyboard users can move through the page and see where they are.

  • Structure and language

Whether the page states its language and uses lists, tables and ARIA the way assistive technology expects.

Why it matters

An accessible website serves everyone.

  • Customers with disabilities

People who use screen readers, keyboards, captions or zoom are customers too. If they cannot use your site, they buy elsewhere.

  • ADA website complaints

Businesses in Florida receive ADA demand letters about websites that are hard to use. Fixing problems early costs far less than answering one.

  • Better for everyone, and for Google

Clear labels, headings and image descriptions help every visitor and help search engines understand the page.

Questions

About the accessibility checker.

Is the accessibility checker really free?

Yes. There is no card and no account. Your score and the biggest problems show right away; the full list, grouped by theme, only asks for your name and email.

What does the accessibility checker test?

It runs Google's Lighthouse accessibility test, the same one built into Chrome and PageSpeed Insights, on the page you enter, on a simulated phone. It checks the WCAG rules a computer can test: contrast, labels, image descriptions, headings, page language, lists, tables and ARIA.

Does a score of 100 mean my website is ADA compliant?

No. Automatic tests find only part of the problems people run into. Keyboard use, reading order, captions and whether descriptions make sense need a person to check them. A high score is a good start, not a legal certificate.

What is WCAG?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the international standard for accessible websites. Courts and the U.S. Department of Justice point to WCAG when they talk about accessible websites, and most accessibility reviews measure against WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 level AA.

Can WebsiteTek fix the problems it finds?

Yes. We fix accessibility problems on existing websites and build new websites to the WCAG standard, with a signed accessibility agreement. Tell us what the check found and you get a fixed price in writing within one business day.

What happens to my information?

The address you type is sent to Google to run the test. If you unlock the full report, we email you a copy and keep your name and contact details to reply to you, as our privacy policy explains. No newsletters, and we never sell or share your details.
