What we check
Four things customers feel.
Four scores from 0 to 100. 90 or higher is good, 50 to 89 needs work, under 50 is poor.
Phone speed
How long your page takes to show up and respond on a phone, the way most customers see it.
Accessibility
Whether people who use screen readers, keyboards or larger text can use your site: labels, contrast, headings.
Best practices
Secure connection, no browser errors, no outdated code, images the right shape and size.
SEO basics
Whether Google can read your page: title, description, links, mobile setup and crawl rules.
Why it matters
A slow website costs you calls.
Customers look you up on a phone
If the page is slow or hard to use on a small screen, they call the next business on the list.
Google notices too
Speed and a page Google can read are part of how it decides which businesses to show first.
Everyone should be able to use it
Accessibility problems shut out customers with disabilities and can lead to ADA complaints.
Questions
About the website check.
Is the website check really free?
Yes. There is no card and no account. The scores and the biggest problems show right away; the full list of problems only asks for your name and email.
What does the website check test?
It runs Google PageSpeed Insights, the free test Google offers to website owners, on the page you enter. It loads the page on a simulated phone and scores phone speed, accessibility, best practices and SEO from 0 to 100.
Why do my scores change a little each time?
Every test loads your page fresh over a simulated phone connection, so the speed score can move a few points between runs. Look at the overall range and the biggest problems, not one exact number.
Can I check a competitor's website?
Yes. Any public website address works, so you can see how your site compares with others in your trade.
Can WebsiteTek fix the problems it finds?
Yes. We fix speed, accessibility and SEO problems on existing websites, or build a new website. Tell us what the check found and you get a fixed price in writing within one business day.
What happens to my information?
The address you type is sent to Google to run the test. If you unlock the full report, we email you a copy and keep your name and contact details to reply to you, as our privacy policy explains. No newsletters, and we never sell or share your details.
