Privacy policy
How we collect, use, and protect information from visitors to websitetek.com.
Last updated: October 2026
Overview
WebsiteTek ("WebsiteTek," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit websitetek.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you submit our quote request or referral form, call, or email us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address, and details about your project or the business you are referring. We use this only to respond to you and to follow up on your request.
Information collected automatically. If we enable website analytics, we collect aggregate usage data such as pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, and how visitors found the Site. This data does not include your name or contact details unless you have separately provided them. We also count page views ourselves: which page was opened, the website that linked to it, and whether it was a phone, tablet, or computer. This count uses no cookies. It records your IP address and the approximate city and country that address maps to, which we use only to understand our traffic and to protect the Site. We keep IP addresses in these records for up to 90 days. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To respond to quote requests, referrals, and other inquiries
- To contact a business you referred to us, and to keep you informed about that referral and any payout
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Free website check, accessibility checker and competitor comparison
When you use our free website check, free accessibility checker or free competitor comparison, the website address you type (for the comparison, your address and your competitor's) is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights, which loads that public page and returns scores and suggestions. Google receives the address you check, not your name or contact details; see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We store the address or addresses, the results, your IP address, and your browser type so we can show you your report and stop abuse, and we blank the IP address and browser type after 90 days. If you unlock the full report, we email one copy of the report to the address you enter, and the name, email address, phone number, and business name you enter are saved as an inquiry and handled like a quote request.
Free domain and SSL check
When you use our free domain and SSL check, we read public information about the domain you type: its registration record (RDAP, through rdap.org and the registry that runs the domain's ending), its public DNS records (through Cloudflare's and Google's public DNS services), and the public certificate logs (through Cert Spotter, a service of SSLMate). Our server also requests the home page of that domain once each at http://, https:// and https://www. to read the first response; it does not follow redirects or read the page itself, and it never contacts private or internal network addresses. We store the domain, the results, your IP address, and your browser type so we can show you your report and stop abuse, and we blank the IP address and browser type after 90 days. If you unlock the step-by-step fixes, we email one copy of the report to the address you enter, and the name, email address, phone number, and business name you enter are saved as an inquiry and handled like a quote request.
Tools that run only in your browser
The website cost calculator, missed-call calculator, Google search preview, local business schema generator and Google review QR code maker work entirely in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we do not store it.
Referral links
If you reach the Site through a referral partner's link and then send us a form or unlock a free tool's report, we credit that partner with the referral. The partner is told that a business came through their link, with your business name when you give one, and can see your name, business, website, and the status of the referral in their account. We do not share your email address or phone number with the partner.
Free email spam check
When you use our free email spam check, we look up the domain of the address you type in public DNS (through Cloudflare's and Google's public DNS services) to read its email records: MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and DNSSEC. We never log in to your email, read your messages, or send test emails.
Form submissions and storage
Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored with our form-processing and database provider so that we can respond to them. Access is limited to WebsiteTek staff who need it to handle your request. Please do not enter passwords, payment details, or other secret information in our forms; we will arrange secure access separately when a project requires it.
Cookies and tracking
The Site itself does not require cookies to function. If analytics are enabled, the analytics provider may set cookies to distinguish visitors and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the Site will continue to work without them.
Third-party services
We use a small number of service providers to run the Site, including web hosting, form processing and data storage, email delivery, spam protection, and optional analytics. These providers may process limited technical data, such as your IP address, as part of delivering their service. We do not control, and this policy does not cover, how third parties independently use data outside the context of the Site. To keep spam and fake accounts out, our forms and account sign-in use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that looks at technical signals from your browser (not your form answers) to tell people from bots; it does not set advertising cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. Our website chat assistant is provided by Botpress: if you start a chat, what you type and the technical details of your visit are processed by Botpress so the assistant can answer you, and Botpress may store data in your browser to keep the conversation going. See Botpress's privacy policy at botpress.com/legal/privacy-statement. Fonts used on this Site are served from our own hosting, not from a third-party font service.
Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with the service providers described above solely to operate the Site and respond to your request, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you, to administer the referral program, and for our own recordkeeping. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Your choices
- You can contact us by phone or email instead of using our forms.
- You can ask us to correct or delete information you have provided.
- You can disable cookies in your browser.
Children
The Site is intended for business owners and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
