Planning guide
What should a plumbing company's website include?
A plumbing website has one job above all others: turn a stressed visitor into a phone call. Everything else, from service pages to photos, supports that job or helps you show up for the next search. Here is how we plan the pages, what we show on them, and how each part helps a plumbing business get found and chosen.
Start with the pages people search for
Homeowners rarely search for "plumber" alone. They search for the problem: a clogged drain, no hot water, a leak in the ceiling, a slab leak. Give each service you want more of its own page with a clear title, a short description of the problem, how you fix it, and a way to call. A home page, four or five service pages, a service-area page, and a contact page cover what most plumbing companies need at the start.
Show proof that is real
Photos of your own trucks, your team, and finished work do more than any stock image. A before and after of a water heater install or a clean repipe tells a homeowner you do careful work. Put your license number and insurance on every page, and show your Google reviews where people decide. Leave out anything you cannot back up, such as awards you did not win or response times you cannot keep.
Make contact effortless on a phone
Most plumbing visits happen on phones, often in a hurry. A call button that stays on screen, a number that dials with one tap, and a short form for non-urgent work are enough. Ask only what you need to call back: name, phone, address or area, and a sentence about the problem, with an option to attach a photo. Long forms lose people who are standing in water.
Say plainly when you answer. If you take emergency calls at night, say so at the top. If you do not, give the hours and how quickly you usually return messages. Honest availability builds more trust than a vague promise of round-the-clock service, and it keeps your phone free of calls you cannot take.
Help Google connect you to nearby searches
Local search depends on consistency. Use the same business name, address, and phone number on your website and your Google Business Profile, list the areas you actually serve, and link the two. Service pages and area pages give search engines something specific to match. Reviews matter too, so make it easy for happy customers to leave one. None of this promises a position, but it gives a well-run plumbing company a fair chance to be found.
