Why SEO
Be the big ad, not the one-line listing.
WebsiteTek's goal is simple: give the search engines a clean, well-built website, improve where it ranks, and bring more people to it, so your phone rings more often and more of your revenue comes straight from natural (unpaid) search.
Remember the Yellow Pages?
People opened the book to a category and scanned the page. The big, bold ads caught their eye and got the calls. The one-line listings, just a name and a phone number, were easy to skip.
Search results work the same way today. When a customer searches for what you do, the businesses at the top get noticed and get the call. SEO is how your business moves from the one-line listing to the big ad at the top of the page.
Where your customers search
In the U.S., four search engines handle almost every search. We prepare your website so it can be found and ranked on all of them.
Google Search
About 86–90% of U.S. searches
The everyday default for web, image, and mobile searches, now with AI summaries at the top of many results.
Microsoft Bing
About 5–9%, second in the U.S.
Built into Windows computers and connected to Microsoft Copilot's AI features.
Yahoo! Search
Third in the U.S.
Its results are powered by Bing, alongside Yahoo Mail, News, and Finance.
DuckDuckGo
The leading private search engine
Does not track search history or build ad profiles, so it attracts privacy-minded customers.
Market share figures are approximate and change over time (source: StatCounter, U.S. search engine market share).
SEO takes months, not days
Rankings in Google and the other search engines are earned over time. The search engines need to crawl your site, notice the improvements, and build trust in it. Most businesses see steady progress over several months, and the gains build on each other the longer the work continues. That is why the SEO Plan is an ongoing monthly service.
No contract. Cancel anytime.
The SEO Plan is month to month. There is no long-term contract, and you can cancel whenever you like. We plan to earn your business every month with the work we do and the results it brings.
Every month
How the monthly plan works
Audit and baseline.
Check the website for errors, omissions, indexing issues, and ranking opportunities. Review the Google Business Profile if you are a local business.
Keywords and phrases.
Identify better target terms. Update titles, headings, meta descriptions, and page copy so the site matches what people actually search for.
Technical and on-page fixes.
Correct problems found in the audit and keep the site clean as new issues appear.
Local and Maps work.
Align the website with local searches and keep the Google Business Profile accurate and active.
Monitor and adjust.
Track rankings and site health. Refine words, phrases, and pages based on results.
Submit and refresh.
Apply changes and submit or refresh sitemaps and important updates so search engines see them.
Repeat.
The same cycle continues each month so the site stays current instead of being optimized once and forgotten.
Technical SEO
Technical SEO is the work that helps search engines find, crawl, understand, and index your website correctly. It is not about writing blog posts. It is about making sure the site itself is built and running in a way Google and other engines can use.
If technical SEO is weak, good content and good keywords often do not rank well. Search engines may miss pages, index the wrong version, or treat the site as slow or broken.
What WebsiteTek checks and fixes
Crawlability and indexability
Can search engines reach your pages, and are they allowed to index them? Includes robots.txt, noindex tags, and blocked resources.
Sitemaps
An XML sitemap lists important URLs. It should stay updated when pages are added or removed.
Site speed and Core Web Vitals
How fast pages load and how stable they feel on phones and desktops.
Mobile-friendliness
Google primarily uses the mobile version of a site for ranking.
HTTPS and security
The site should use HTTPS. Mixed content or insecure pages can cause problems.
URL structure and canonical tags
Clean URLs and canonicals tell search engines which version of a page is the main one.
Redirects and broken pages
Old URLs should redirect correctly. Broken links and 404 errors should be found and fixed.
Duplicate and thin content
Multiple URLs showing the same content can split ranking signals.
Structured data
Markup that helps search engines understand the page (business info, articles, services, FAQs).
Search Console and indexing
Coverage errors, sitemap status, and indexing issues are checked so problems are caught early.
Local SEO
Local SEO helps your business show up when people search for services near them — for example “plumber near me,” “coffee shop in [city],” or “SEO company [town].”
The goal is to appear in the Google Map Pack (the local businesses shown with the map), Google Maps, local organic results, and “near me” searches on phones.
What local SEO includes
Google Business Profile — the most important local listing. Name, address, phone, categories, hours, photos, services, and posts must stay accurate.
NAP consistency — Name, Address, and Phone must match on the website, Google profile, and other listings.
Local keywords on the website — City, neighborhood, and service-area phrases on key pages.
Location details on the site — Address, map, service-area information, and clear contact details.
Reviews — Recent, genuine reviews and replies help both rankings and trust.
Citations — Consistent listings on major directories. Quality matters more than huge volume.
Local tracking — Map Pack rankings, profile insights, calls, and direction requests.
A site can be technically fine and still not show up locally if the Google profile is weak, the address is inconsistent, or the site never mentions the service area.
Google Business Profile optimization
Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing people see. WebsiteTek sets up and maintains the listing so it is complete, accurate, and active — which helps you appear in Maps and local search and gives visitors a reason to call or click.
Foundation
- Claim and verify the profile
- Use the real-world business name only — no keywords or city stuffed into the name
- Choose the most specific primary category, then add only secondary categories you actually offer
- Keep name, address, and phone consistent with the website
- Set the correct address or a realistic service area
- Keep hours and holiday hours current
- Link to the correct website page
Completeness
- Business description (up to 750 characters): what you do and where, written for people
- Services listed with short descriptions
- Attributes filled in where they are true (payments, accessibility, appointments, and similar)
- Q&A watched and answered
Activity and trust
- Real photos of the business, team, and work — added over time, not once and forgotten
- Review monitoring and help responding to new reviews
- Profile posts when there is something real to publish
- Messaging or booking links only if you can actually respond
What we avoid
- Keyword-stuffed business names
- Fake addresses or categories you do not offer
- Stock photos presented as proof of the business
- Paying for reviews or offering discounts in exchange for reviews
Monthly Google profile work on this plan
- First month
- audit name, categories, services, description, photos, hours, Q&A, reviews, and duplicate listings
- Every month after
- check accuracy, update services or description if things change, add or request photos, publish a post when there is news, monitor reviews, flag errors or guideline risks, and keep the website aligned with the profile

What this plan is — and is not
WebsiteTek SEO Plan is hands-on monthly management at an accessible price. The aim is steady, practical improvement in organic (natural) search — not overnight number-one rankings and not a large-agency retainer.
Included
keyword and phrase updates, technical audits and fixes, monitoring, submissions/refreshes, local SEO checks, and Google Business Profile maintenance.
Not included at this fee
large-scale link building campaigns, paid ads, or building hundreds of directory listings every month.
Questions
Common questions about SEO.
How long until I see results?
Local SEO builds over months, not days. Technical fixes and profile work often show quickly; ranking for competitive terms takes sustained effort. We set expectations honestly at the start and report every month.
Do I need SEO if I am getting a new site?
Every site we build includes the technical foundation and local search setup. Ongoing local SEO is for businesses that want to actively grow their share of search traffic and stay ahead of competitors.
Is SEO a one-time job?
No. Search engines change, competitors adjust, and your business evolves. The businesses that keep their rankings are the ones that keep developing their SEO, which is why our plans run monthly and can be cancelled anytime.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No one can honestly guarantee a specific ranking. We commit to the work, the reporting, and to telling you the truth about what is and is not working.
